Latency definition

Latency means the additional time, beyond that of the basic perceivable response time of the aircraft due to the response time of the FSTD.
Latency means the delay between input into a system and the outcome based upon that input. In computer networks, latency refers to the delay between a source system sending a packet or message, and the destination system receiving such packet or message.
Latency means the maximum delay for a portion of successfully delivered service frames. Latency may also be referred to as Frame Delay.

Latency means the lag time between a customer click on an internet link and the conversion of that customer to a sale. The term can also refer to the lag time between ad inventory’s purchase and its display on publisher’s media.
