Occupational Illness or Injury definition

Occupational Illness or Injury means any Illness or Injury arising out of or in the course of employment for pay or profit.
Occupational Illness or Injury means a disease or accidental bodily injury that arises out of (or in the course of) any work for pay or profit, or in any way results from a disease or injury which does. However, if proof is furnished to the SIMNSA Health Plan that the Member is covered under a worker’s compensation law or similar law, but is not covered for a particular disease or injury under such law, that disease or injury will not be considered “occupational,” regardless of cause.

Examples of Occupational Illness or Injury in a sentence

  • An employee who exhausts the two year Occupational Illness or Injury Leave of Absence and has not returned to work shall be terminated.

  • Occupational Illness or Injury Leave of Absence, for the period of disability, but in no case, more than five years.

  • The Salary Continuance benefit delays the commencement of a Medical or Occupational Illness or Injury Leave for up to six (6) months.

  • Personal injury means injury, other than "bodily injury", arising out of one or more of the following offenses:

  • Injury means accidental physical bodily harm excluding illness or disease solely and directly caused by external, violent and visible and evident means which is verified and certified by a Medical Practitioner.

  • Workplace Harassment means engaging in a course of vexatious comment or conduct against a worker in a workplace that is known or ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcome”. Ref: Occupational Health and

  • Severe property damage means substantial physical damage to property, damage to the treatment facilities which would cause them to become inoperable, or substantial and permanent loss of natural resources which can reasonably be expected to occur in the absence of a bypass. Severe property damage does not mean economic loss caused by delays in production.

  • Property damage means physical injury to, destruction of or loss of use of tangible property.

  • Workplace means a place at which, on an average, twenty or more workers are employed.
