Payroll Day as used in this Section shall mean and consist of a twenty-four (24) hour period beginning when the employee clocks in at the beginning of their shift each day. Holiday pay is paid at the same rate as an employee’s regular rate of pay and for the same number of hours as if the employee had worked that day. Regular non-exempt full-time and part-time employees employed for more than or equal to twenty (20) hours per week are eligible for holiday pay. Temporary employees and employees employed for less than twenty (20) hours per week are not eligible for holiday pay. To receive holiday pay, eligible employees must be regularly scheduled to work on the observed holiday. Holiday pay is not considered time worked for purposes of calculating overtime. If a recognized holiday falls during an eligible employee’s paid time off, holiday pay will be provided instead of the paid time off benefit that would otherwise have applied. Employees on unpaid leaves of absence are not eligible for holiday pay for holiday(s) observed during their absences.
