Probationary Occasional Teacher definition

Probationary Occasional Teacher means an Occasional Teacher with less than fifty (50) full-time equivalent days of work as an Occasional Teacher with the Board. An Occasional Teacher shall be on probation for up to fifty (50) full-time equivalent days of work as an Occasional Teacher and during such time shall not have access to the grievance and arbitration procedures in instances of discipline and/or discharge.
Probationary Occasional Teacher means a teacher covered by this Collective Agreement who has not completed thirty (30) teaching days of employment as an Occasional Teacher with the Board. It is understood that the probationary period of thirty (30) teaching days may be extended one (1) thirty (30) day period at the exclusive discretion of the appropriate superintendent.
Probationary Occasional Teacher. (Casual or Long Term) means an Occasional Teacher covered by this Agreement who has not completed at least forty-five (45) assignments as an Occasional Teacher. A former teacher with the Board who is hired as an Occasional Teacher within one (1) year of ceasing to be an employee of the Board, and who is in good standing with the Board, shall not be required to serve a probationary period.

Probationary Occasional Teacher means a teacher who has not completed the probationary period. Each Occasional Teacher, currently employed or who is added to the Board’s list of Occasional Teachers, shall, from the date of hire as an Occasional Teacher, serve a probationary period of forty (40) instructional days worked in the secondary panel of the Board. An Occasional Teacher who was previously employed by the Durham District School Board as a permanent teacher shall serve a probationary period of twenty (20) days.

  • Period of Service means the aggregate of all periods of service commencing with an Employee's first day of employment or reemployment with the Employer or an Affiliated Employer and ending on the first day of a Period of Severance, or for benefit accrual purposes, ending on the severance from service date. An Employee who incurs a Period of Severance of twelve (12) months or less will also receive service-spanning credit by treating any such period as a Period of Service for purposes of eligibility and vesting (but not benefit accrual). For purposes of benefit accrual, a Participant's whole year Periods of Service is equal to the sum of all full and partial periods of service, whether or not such service is continuous or contiguous, expressed in the number of whole years represented by such sum. For this purpose, fractional periods of a year will be expressed in terms of days.

  • Probation means a period of six (6) months from the day upon which an employee is first appointed or a period of three (3) months after an employee has been transferred or promoted. If an employee does not successfully complete his probationary period on transfer or promotion, the Employer shall appoint him to a position comparable to the one from which he was transferred or promoted;

Customized employment may include employment developed through job carving, self-employment or entrepreneurial initiatives, or other job development or restructuring strategies that result in job responsibilities being customized and individually negotiated to fit the needs of the individual with a disability. Customized employment assumes the provision of reasonable accommodations and supports necessary for the individual to perform the functions of a job that is individually negotiated and developed.

  • Continuous Shift Work means work that is performed by employees where the hours of work are regularly rostered in accordance with a shift roster covering a 24 hour period over a 7 day week.
