School Official. For the purposes of this Agreement and pursuant to 34 CFR 99.31 (B), a School Official is a contractor that: (1) Performs an institutional service or function for which the agency or institution would otherwise use employees; (2) Is under the direct control of the agency or institution with respect to the use and maintenance of education records; and (3) Is subject to 34 CFR 99.33

School Official means for the purposes of this DPA and pursuant to FERPA (34 CFR 99.31 (B)), a contractor that: (1) Performs an institutional service or function for which the agency or institution would otherwise use employees; (2) Is under the direct control of the agency or institution with respect to the use and maintenance of Education records; and (3) Is subject to FERPA (34 CFR 99.33(a)) governing the use and re-disclosure of personally identifiable information from Education Records.

• In performing these services, the Provider shall be considered a School Official with a legitimate educational interest, and performing services otherwise provided by the LEA.

More Definitions of School Official

School Official has the same meaning as under FERPA at 34 C.F.R. § 99.31(a)(1), and includes contractors, consultants, volunteers, or other parties to which an educational institution has outsourced institutional services or functions.

School Official means a person employed by the District as an administrator, supervisor, instructor, or support staff member, including health or medical staff and law enforcement unit personnel, a person serving on the Board of Education, a person or company with whom the district has contracted to perform a special task (such as an attorney, auditor, medical consultant, or therapist), or a parent or student serving on an official committee such as a disciplinary or grievance committee, or assisting another school official in performing his/her tasks.

School Official means a board member, an employee or officer of the New Jersey School Boards Association, but not including any member of the secretarial, clerical or maintenance staff of the association, or an administrator; and

School Official means licensed school employees, including but not limited to principals, vice principals, deans of students, teachers, counselors and social workers, and also means unlicensed school employees employed for security or supervision purposes such as campus monitors.

School Official means a board, member, officer, or employee of an Applicant or the Charter School.
