Journeymen An Employee who holds a certification of qualification for his/her respective trade in accordance to the Alberta Apprenticeship, Training and Certification Act (or its successor).
Journeyman GROUP I: All applicants for employment who have three and one-half (3½) or more years of experience in the trade, are residents of the geographical area constituting the normal construction labor market, have passed a Journeyman's examination given by a duly constituted Outside Local Union of the I.B.E.W., and who have been employed for a period of at least one (1) year in the last three and one-half (3½) years in the geographical area covered by the collective bargaining agreement.
Contact person person who provides a link for administrative information and who, depending on the structure of the higher education institution, may be the departmental coordinator or works at the international relations office or equivalent body within the institution.
SPECIALIZED JOB CLASSES Where there is a particular specialized job class in which the pay rate is below the local market value assessment of that job class, the parties may use existing means under the collective agreement to adjust compensation for that job class.
Overtime Banking (a) Employees who are required to work overtime shall elect at the time of working such overtime whether to be paid for it or instead to receive compensating time off in lieu. An employee who elects to receive compensating time off, shall be credited with compensating time off equivalent to the number of hours which the employee would have been paid for the overtime worked and, subject to an employee's request to be granted compensating time off being approved by the department head (or delegate), such employee shall be granted any portion of the compensating time off at the pay rate or rates in effect at the time the overtime in question was worked. All compensating time off credited during a particular calendar year but which has not been granted to an employee by March 31st of the immediately following year shall be paid in cash at that time at the pay rate or rates in effect at the time the overtime in question was worked.

Overnight Travel For each full day of travel, all three meals are reimbursable. Per diems on the first and last day of a trip are governed as set forth below. Departure Day Depart before 12:00 noon Lunch and dinner Depart after 12:00 noon Return Day Dinner Return before 12:00 noon Breakfast Return between 12:00 noon & 7:00 p.m. Breakfast and lunch Return after 7:00 p.m.* Breakfast, lunch and dinner *7:00 p.m. is defined as direct travel time and does not include time taken to stop for dinner. The reimbursement rates for individual meals are calculated as a percentage of the full day per diem as follows: Breakfast 15% Lunch 25% Dinner 60%
