WHMIS. The Work-place Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is designed to classify hazardous materials that are used in the work place. The law requires all such products to be properly labelled and requires material safety data sheet(s) (MSDS) to be suitably attainable. Employees will receive training to inform them of such products and advise them of the hazards involved, and of the proper procedures for safe storage, handling, use and disposal of these materials. Employees will also be instructed about what to do should they be exposed to a hazardous material. The Company has WHMIS charts posted throughout the plant.
WHMIS. The Company agrees that all WHMIS standards will be followed for the purpose of protecting Owner Operators and employees from any exposure to hazardous substances or human blood.
WHMIS. 4.11.1 The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (“WHMIS”) is a government-mandated “Right-To-Know” program that requires employers to have all dangerous materials in the workplace labeled, to supply Material Safety Data Sheets, and to train workers on how-to use those materials and obtain additional information on them.
WHMIS. A. INFORMATION -JOINT COMMITTEE The Company will advise the Joint Committee of known harmful physical agents or chemicals to which employees are exposed and protective measures and applicable emergency procedures. In addition, the Company. will inform the committee of any new harmful physical agents or chemicals prior to their introduction to the workplace. B. INFORMATION - EMPLOYEES The Company will inform employees adequately regarding risks relating to their use, provide appropriate training and supervision so that employees have the knowledge to safely perform the work assigned to them. C. WHMIS training will be reviewed by the Joint Committee on an annual basis and refresher training will be conducted at a frequency deemed appropriate by the Committee in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario in effect on the date of this agreement.
WHMIS. Follow all procedural instructions when using or handling hazardous materials/controlled products and ensure that all containers of hazardous/controlled product materials are properly labelled and stored in designated areas. 10. Xxxx all posted signs and notices. Do not venture into areas that you are not authorized to enter. 11. Always use the correct posture when lifting and get assistance if the weight is excessive. 12. Do not work within the limits of approach to high voltage equipment. 13. If working at heights greater than 10 feet a Fall Protection system must be in place. The appropriate Fall Protection equipment must be worn at all times. 14. Housekeeping (Orderliness and good housekeeping are basic requirements and must be maintained at all times): a) Aisles are to be kept clear at all times. b) Individual work areas are to be kept clean and tidy. c) All materials, tools, products and equipment are to be kept in their designated areas. d) Liquid spills are to be cleaned up immediately to prevent slips and falls. e) Accumulation of oily rags, combustible refuse or similar fire hazards will not be tolerated.

WHMIS. Safety Orientation Fall Arrest First Aid (as required) Confined Space (as required) This contribution will be remitted along with the Training Fund contribution for a total contribution of twenty five cents (25¢) per hour as set out in the wage table of this agreement. It is agreed that this Safety Training program will be subject to audit and review of the parties as appropriate and is subject to termination by either party if the program is not functioning satisfactorily. In the event the Safety Training program is terminated, the employer’s contribution shall cease. It is the intention of the parties that all members receiving a referral slip from the hall shall have current and valid training in the courses listed above.
WHMIS. The supply of any and all hazardous goods to the Purchaser must conform to WHMIS legislation. Goods must be properly labeled and accompanied by Material Safety Data Sheets.
