Doctor appointments are to be scheduled outside the school day, whenever possible. Sick days may be used for all doctor visits which cannot be scheduled outside the school day or during vacation periods. Use of sick days for illness in the family shall be limited to ten (10) sick days a school year. The superintendent or designee may grant extended use of consecutive sick days if extenuating circumstances exist. b. For purposes of sick leave, “family” shall mean an employee’s spouse or child. Xxxx leave may, however, be used in the case where an employee’s parent, brother or sister are involved if the employee’s personal leave for the year has been exhausted.
