Actuators. AOCS software controls the following 2 actuators via sending specific control commands: • Reaction Wheel (RW) – is a rotating wheel that is used to apply a torque to the satellite. This is achieved by accelerating or breaking the wheel. This actuator can be either On or Off. • Thruster (THR) – is a position actuator which is by emitting gas jets used to force the satellite to change its position and its orbit.
