Common use of Adoption/Paternity Leave Clause in Contracts

Adoption/Paternity Leave. (a) An Employee, upon written request, shall be granted leave without pay for up to six (6) months as necessary for the purpose of adopting a child, or for parenting duties following the birth of a child.

Such leave shall be without pay, benefits and accrual of benefit credits. Such leave will not exceed twelve (12) months following the date of adoption or birth of a child.
