Common use of Advertising of Vacancy Clause in Contracts

Advertising of Vacancy. All vacancies shall be posted internally and the Union shall receive a copy at the time of posting. Members of the Bargaining Unit shall have the opportunity to apply for the open position within six (6) working days of the posting. If the internal applicant is not appointed or no internal applications are forthcoming within the six (6) working day period, the vacancy shall be advertised publicly. Such advertisement shall include the statement that the College is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer. All vacancies shall be posted internally, and the Union, the Academic Head, Associate Academic Heads and Assistant Academic Heads shall receive a copy of both internal and external postings at the time of posting.
