Announcement of Vacancies. When a vacancy occurs, a vacancy announcement will be posted on the designated secure site linked to the GCPS website at xxx.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx. The announcement will indicate the closing date which shall be no sooner than five (5) calendar days following the posting date. Those who wish to apply must do so through the application process within the advertised time period.
Announcement of Vacancies. The following procedures shall apply for the selection of candidates for positions in the bargaining unit through transfers, promotions and new employment.
1. A vacancy shall be deemed to have occurred when a full-time employee is sought to fill a full-time position.
2. The announcement of vacancies will state job-related qualifications for the positions, including certification, education, other experiential requirements, supervisory responsibilities, whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and whether the position is exempt from FLSA regulations. These announcements will specify the application procedures and shall be posted at least seven (7) days before the application deadline. These announcements will be distributed to all work locations within Broward County Public Schools.
3. No positions will be filled prior to the end of the posting period.

Announcement of Vacancies. Vacancies which are to be filled in administration, supervision, department chairpersons, teachers-in-charge, teacher specialists, mentors, and eleven-month positions will be advertised.
Announcement of Vacancies. All positions within the unit which offer promotional and transfer opportunities will be posted for at least one week prior to the close of the application deadline. Current employees may express an interest in any position for which they qualify in accordance with the promotional procedure (Section 6.6) and voluntary transfer procedure (Section 6.7). When a position vacancy exists, those persons who have expressed an interest through the appropriate written transfer request or application process and meet the minimum qualifications pursuant to records on file in the Human Resources Office will be contacted and given first consideration for the position. All clerical vacancies within the unit will be posted. Current employees may express an interest for any clerical position (e.g. promotion, demotion, transfer) for which they qualify through submission of an online application. A minimum of two internal candidates will be interviewed for any promotional opportunity. When a position vacancy is announced, all applicants must be qualified for the position as of the date of the announcement and must follow the procedures and timeline indicated on the posting. Full-time employees shall receive first consideration for vacant positions; then qualified part-time employees will be given consideration for full-time assignments.
Announcement of Vacancies. 12-2-1: Position vacancies will post as follows:
a. Building level vacancies (reassignments) will be posted, via e-mail and paper notice (posted at site), to all building staff. Interested candidates have 3 (three) business days to notify the building administrator of their interest, in writing or via e-mail, in the listed position.
b. If there are no interested and/or qualified candidates in-building, the vacancy will be posted via district website electronic application system as soon as possible. Additionally, a vacancy summary will be posted hard copy (paper) at the District Office and each building site on Mondays and Thursdays.
c. The simultaneous posting for transfers and external candidates must run a minimum of 5 (five) business days.
d. All postings will be identified with a closing date. If no in-district candidates are identified and/or hired, the vacancy may be posted as “until filled.”
e. During the summer, vacancy information will be available on the Web Site, available at District Office, e- mailed to each building, and posted via hard copy at each site.

When a position is announced, all unit members who wish to be considered for the position must be qualified for the position as of the date of the announcement and must apply within the specified time limit stated on the announcement. Only those who submit a complete application will be considered. Employees may apply for promotional opportunities subject to Article 4.4. Employees may apply for voluntary transfer opportunities subject to Article 4.5.
