Common use of Annual Vacation and Paid Holidays Clause in Contracts

Annual Vacation and Paid Holidays. Casual employees shall receive six percent (6%) of basic pay on each paycheque in lieu of vacations and, further, he/she shall be entitled to holiday pay provided that they have worked fifteen (15) of the previous thirty (30) working days, or the day before and the day after a paid holiday as listed in Article 15. In such instances, casual employees shall be compensated for the holiday in accordance with the part-time provisions contained in Section 15.3 of that article. Casual employees who work on a designated holiday shall be compensated for at the rate of time and one-half (1½x) their regular rate for all hours worked.
