Association Security and Check Off. 4 1. All employees covered by this Agreement who are Association members on its 5 signing date shall either maintain membership in the Association or at the employee's 6 option pay a "fair share" service fee in lieu of dues. All Registered Nurse employees 7 covered by this Agreement who are not Association members on its signing date and 8 new employees hired after that date shall either become members and maintain 11 Agreement shall have thirty (30) days from the date of the signing of this Agreement 12 or date of hire, whichever is later, in which to contribute a "fair share" service fee to 13 the Association. 14 2. The amount of monthly "fair share" service fee shall be: 23 A. For Registered Nurses an amount as established by the Association, 24 and permitted by law. 25 B. For Licensed Practical Nurses an amount established by the 26 Association, and permitted by law. 27 The Association expressly agrees that no funds derived from the "fair share" 28 service fee, in lieu of dues, shall be expended for political purposes of the 29 Association. 30 4. The amounts to be deducted shall be certified by the Association to the 31 County, and the aggregate deductions of all employees shall be remitted, together 1 with an itemized statement to the Association by the first day of the succeeding 2 month after such deductions are made. 3 5. The Association expressly agrees that it will safeguard the rights of 4 non-Association employees, based upon bona fide religious tenants or teachings of a 5 church or religious body of which such employee is a member and as to any such 6 employee such sums paid by such employee equivalent to regular Association dues

The Association expressly agrees that it will safeguard the rights of 4 35 non-Association employees, based upon bona fide religious tenants or teachings of 36 a 5 church or religious body of which such employee is a member and as to any such 6 37 employee such sums paid by such employee equivalent to regular Association 1 dues and the "fair share" service fee in lieu of dues, shall be paid to a non-religious 2 charity mutually agreed upon by the employee making such payment and the 3 Association. Payment may be made either through payroll deduction to the 4 Association for distribution to the charity or, the employee may request that such in 5 lieu of dues "fair share" service fee not be deducted and shall make such payment 6 directly to a charity as heretofore stated and shall furnish written proof to the 7 Association and the County, when requested, that this has been done. 8 6. Within thirty (30) days after the execution of this Agreement and monthly 28 Section 2, Subsection (A) above shall be made on the first payday of each month.

Within thirty (30) days after the execution of this Agreement and monthly 15 thereafter for the term of this Agreement, the County shall provide the Association 16 electronically with a master listing of all Bargaining Unit Employees who are subject 17 to the provisions of this Agreement. Such listing shall contain the names of the 18 employees, along with their job classifications, work locations for full-time and part- 19 time employees, home addresses, home phone number, SAP number, and dates of 20 employment. Each month subsequent to the establishment of the master list, the 21 County shall forward to the Association electronically the names, job classifications, 22 work locations for full-time and part-time employees, home addresses, dates of 23 employment, and SAP number of all new employees covered by this Agreement and 24 of all employees who terminated from the bargaining unit during the month. The 25 Association shall advise the County’s Human Resources Director of the address to 26 which the listings are to be sent. Whenever an employee has not joined the 27 Association within thirty (30) days after employment as described in Section 2, 28 Subsection (B) above, the Association shall give written notice to the County's 29 Central Payroll Office and shall deliver a copy to the affected employee. Deduction 30 of the service fee pursuant to Section 2, Subsection (B) above shall be made on the 31 first payday of each month, but no deduction shall be made in the absence of correct 1 notification from the Association as provided under this section. Deduction of 2 Association dues authorized by the employee under Section 2, Subsection (A) above 3 shall be made on the first payday of each month.
