Basic Philosophy and Principles. 11.1.1 Unit members shall be subject to evaluation when performing duties normal to their daily work. The primary purpose of evaluation shall be to improve instruction and encourage professional development. It is further understood that this purpose can be more readily achieved by a manifest willingness on the part of the parties to the evaluation process to improve instruction in a spirit of mutual trust and professionalism. The principal or principal's designee is responsible for the evaluation of certificated teaching staff. Evaluation of unit members not assigned to a school is the responsibility of the supervising administrator.
