BEGINNING TEACHERS. 1. A beginning teacher is defined as a teacher who is teaching in their first ten (10) months since the attainment of their initial teaching certificate. 2. Wherever possible, special consideration shall be given to the assignments of beginning teachers. 3. A school based mentoring program shall be developed that is voluntary for both the teacher-mentor and the beginning teacher.
