The salary schedule is a basic scale however, and the Board reserves the right to pay any teacher a salary higher than that provided in the schedule pursuant to Article A.2 - Recognition of Union.

PLACEMENT ON SCHEDULE. All principals employed as of the beginning of this Master Contract shall be placed on the salary schedule according to their specific job title and classification, and according to the Agreement between the District and the Association, subject to the right of the District to withhold a portion or all of any increase for a principal or assistant where performance is deemed to be less than satisfactory.
PLACEMENT ON SCHEDULE. An employee’s salary shall be determined by placement on the schedule as determined by level of training. All new employees shall be given credit on the salary schedule set forth in Appendix A for full years of experience in any legally recognized school district and/or paid related experience as determined by the Board. Such credit will be limited to five (5) years on all levels. Credit shall be limited to eight (8) years on the certified levels for new employees hired as Teacher Consultants.

PLACEMENT ON SCHEDULE. New employees will be placed on the appropriate schedule as determined by the requirements of the job and at the discretion of Human Resources. Effective 07/01/16 each ten and one-half (10 ½) month employee who has worked a minimum of 120 paid days during the school fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will move to the next step on the salary schedule on July 1st of the following year upon satisfactory job performance. Satisfactory job performance shall be determined by the employee’s most recent performance evaluation. Employees who do not receive a step increase or career increment increase due to job performance shall be eligible for such step increase or career increment the following July 1st, or some alternate date as determined through Meet and Confer, with Board approval. Schedule advancements will occur on July 1st of each year for eligible employees. Employees will maintain their seniority based on their original hire date within the unit. For the purposes of this section, a day worked will include paid leave and holiday pay. Employees must be regularly scheduled to work ten and one-half (10-1/2) hours or more per week in order to qualify for step movement. Summer only employment does not qualify for step movement.
PLACEMENT ON SCHEDULE. Newly employed members who have had outside teaching experience or work experience related to their teaching assignment prior to their employment in District 129 may receive full credit on the salary schedule. Such determination shall be at the discretion of the Board. However, general administration procedures will be to place new staff on the salary schedule at BA1 and allow for lane movement of one lane per year until they reach their credentialed level. For newly hired members, credit will be given only for that experience realized after the Bachelor’s degree was earned and full member’s licensure was realized. A year’s credit on the salary schedule shall be granted for each year of military service to a maximum of two (2) years provided such military service interrupted the person’s teaching experience.
PLACEMENT ON SCHEDULE. Subd. 1: The District shall place successful candidates for employment on the salary schedule on an appropriate step level based on the individual candidate’s education and job related experience. If the District assigns a candidate above the initial step level, the District will inform the Exclusive Representative of that placement. In the event an in-district employee is selected for employment within the bargaining unit, the probationary period for the position shall extend for ninety (90) days.
