Benefits While on Unpaid Leaves of Absence. Sick leave and vacation benefits do not accrue during any unpaid leave of absence. The Employee is responsible for all health, dental and life insurance premiums during any unpaid leave of absence, unless otherwise required by law. There shall be no break in seniority during the period of a leave of absence. An Employee on a leave of absence may work occasional hours or shifts if she or he is able to work but is unable to return to his or her former schedule or status.
