Common use of Callback Compensation Clause in Contracts

Callback Compensation. (a) An employee who is called back to work and who reports for work shall be compensated for a minimum of four (4) hours at the straight time rate for the period worked, or at the applicable overtime rate, whichever is greater. The minimum guarantee of four (4) hours pay at the straight time rate shall apply only once during each eight (8) consecutive hours on standby. (b) When a part-time employee is not scheduled to work but is required by the Employer to standby, the day(s) on standby shall be considered as the employee’s rest day(s) and shall be compensated for all call back as overtime in accordance with Article 15 or a minimum of four (4) hours at the straight time rate, whichever is greater.
