Common use of Casual Seniority Clause in Contracts

Casual Seniority. Seniority for Casual Employees shall be the number of hours of service in casual employment, excluding overtime, in the Bargaining units. Service will only include hours actually worked by the Casual Employee. If a Casual Employee is subsequently appointed to a position in the Bargaining group, such person, after having completed their probationary period in the position, shall have their seniority dated back to the date of hiring in the Bargaining Group on a casual basis, provided the person has not had a break in service for more than twelve (12) months.
