Central Office Sync Test (COST. 12.1 This Service is only available where CUSTOMER has Central Office Based Line Sharing or Central Office Based Line Splitting arrangements in effect. 12.2 COST is an ADSL sync test to test the CUSTOMER data signal with the CUSTOMER DSLAM in the BellSouth Central Office (CO) where the CUSTOMER DSLAM is collocated. COST is only available in conjunction with a CUSTOMER initiated Central Office Based Line Sharing or Central Office Based Line Splitting (Shared Loop) trouble ticket. Prior to CUSTOMER submitting a Shared Loop trouble ticket, CUSTOMER warrants that CUSTOMER has performed all tier 1 trouble determination and trouble isolation procedures. The BellSouth CO technician shall perform the sync test using existing ADSL sync test equipment. COST will originate from the protector block in the CO and test for sync with the CUSTOMER DSLAM located in the CUSTOMER collocation area. If sync does occur, the wiring for the high frequency spectrum is correct and CUSTOMER’s DSLAM is working properly. If the BellSouth CO technician is unable to sync with the DSLAM from the protector block, the technician will then test from the CUSTOMER demarcation point where the CUSTOMER cable terminates. COST is considered complete when the technician is able to sync, or after the sync test has been performed from both locations, whichever occurs first. 12.3 Availability 12.3.1 BellSouth shall have no obligation to provide COST except for Shared Loop arrangements in effect at the time of ordering COST. 12.3.2 COST is only available in conjunction with a CUSTOMER initiated Shared Loop trouble ticket. 12.3.3 COST is only available in BellSouth COs and only those BellSouth COs where standard BellSouth ADSL test equipment is available and in working order. At the time CUSTOMER requests COST, the technician will be able to advise CUSTOMER of the availability of the appropriate test equipment at that specific CO. 12.3.4 COST is only designed for, and effective with, CUSTOMER DSLAM equipment compatible with BellSouth ADSL test equipment. BellSouth shall publish the generic specifications of its test equipment on the BellSouth Interconnection Web site: xxxx://xxx.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxxx.xxx/markets/lec/line_sharing_collab/index.html 12.3.5 CUSTOMER is responsible to ensure the compatibility of the BellSouth ADSL test equipment with CUSTOMER’s equipment. • Loop Provisioning Involving Integrated Digital Loop Carriers 2.6.1 Where Xxxx has requested an Unbundled Loop and BellSouth uses IDLC systems to provide the local service to the End User and BellSouth has a suitable alternate facility available, BellSouth will make such alternative facilities available to Xxxx. If a suitable alternative facility is not available, then to the extent it is technically feasible, BellSouth will implement one of the following alternative arrangements for Xxxx (e.g. hairpinning): 1. Roll the circuit(s) from the IDLC to any spare copper that exists to the customer premises. 2. Roll the circuit(s) from the IDLC to an existing DLC that is not integrated. 3. If capacity exists, provide "side-door" porting through the switch. 4. If capacity exists, provide "Digital Access Cross Connect System (DACS)- door" porting (if the IDLC routes through a DACS prior to integration into the switch). 2.6.2 Arrangements 3 and 4 above require the use of a designed circuit. Therefore, non- designed Loops such as the SL1 voice grade and UCL-ND may not be ordered in these cases. 2.6.3 If no alternate facility is available, and upon request from Xxxx, and if agreed to by both Parties, BellSouth may utilize its Special Construction (SC) process to determine the additional costs required to provision facilities.
