Child Death Leave / Crime-Related Child Disappearance Leave. In accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, an employee shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence of up to one-hundred and four (104) weeks if a child of the employee dies or it is probable, considering the circumstances that a child of the employee disappeared as a result of a crime. Employees continue to earn credit for seniority and service during a leave under this article.

  • Family Death Leave a. The County shall authorize family death leave with pay, for a regular employee, when needed, due to the death of his/her:

  • Pregnancy Disability Leave A. Leave for pregnancy or childbirth related disability is in addition to any leave granted under FMLA or WFLA.

  • Family Violence Leave Family Violence Leave as provided for by the Holidays Act 2003 is in addition to other leave allowances within the collective agreement.

Leave beyond the period covered by family medical leave and pregnancy disability may only be denied by the Employer due to operational necessity. Such denial may be grieved beginning at the top internal step of the grievance procedure in Article 30.
