Closed Session. A meeting of the Board of Education or a committee thereof, the Superintendent, and such other staff members as the Board may desire. Members of the public and the press who are not indispensable to determining the issues, finding facts, and reaching a conclusion on the matter shall be barred from attendance.
Closed Session. Closed sessions of the Board shall be confidential. However, confidential information from closed sessions may be disclosed to Members as permitted by Government Code section 54956.96. The Board may include provisions in its bylaws to implement this section.
Closed Session. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 7.6, upon an affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the Directors present, the Board may meet in closed session: 1) to consider the employment, evaluation of performance, or dismissal of an employee of WECC and to deliberate regarding decisions the Board may be called upon to make regarding the nomination, qualification, appointment, or removal of a member of the Board of Directors; 2) to discuss pending or proposed litigation and to receive confidential attorney-client communications from legal counsel; and 3) to receive and discuss any information that is privileged, trade secret, cybersecurity, critical energy infrastructure information (as defined by the FERC), protected from public disclosure by law or that the Board determines should be confidential in order to protect a legitimate public interest.
Closed Session. A motion was made by Xxxx Xxxxxxx and seconded by Xxxxx Xxxxx to move to closed session at 7:23 p.m. for the purpose of discussing:
A. The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of employees.
B. Litigation
Closed Session. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 8.5.12, after a quorum has been established at any MAC meeting and upon an affirmative vote of two- thirds (2/3) of the MAC members present, the MAC may close an open meeting and reconvene in closed session in the following instances: (1) to receive and/or discuss confidential attorney-client privileged information from WECC’s counsel; or (2) to receive and discuss any other information which is privileged, confidential, proprietary, trade secret, or otherwise protected from public disclosure by law.
Closed Session. Revised 3/22/12 As provided by statute, the Board may elect, by a vote taken in a public meeting, to consider and discuss prescribed matters in Closed session. Closed sessions will be conducted in accordance with the Illinois Open Meetings Act 5 ILCS 120. The authorized reason must be stated in the motion, recorded in the minutes and approved by a roll call vote.
Closed Session. Notwithstanding Education Code 35145, the Board shall conduct a hearing to consider the expulsion of the student in a session closed to the public unless the student requests in writing at least five days prior to the hearing that the hearing be a public meeting. If such a request is made, the meeting shall be public to the extent that privacy rights of other students are not violated. (Education Code 48918) Whether the expulsion hearing is held in closed or public session, the Board may meet in closed session to deliberate and determine whether or not the student should be expelled. If the Board admits any other person to this closed session, the parent/guardian, the student, and the counsel of the student also shall be allowed to attend the closed session. (Education Code 48918(c)) If a hearing that involves a charge of sexual assault or sexual battery is to be conducted in public, a complaining witness shall have the right to have his/her testimony heard in closed session when testifying in public would threaten serious psychological harm to the witness and when there are no alternative procedures to avoid the threatened harm, including, but not limited to, a videotaped deposition or contemporaneous examination in another place communicated to the hearing room by closed-circuit television. (Education Code 48918(c))
