Communications Associate. The Communications Associate is responsible for some or all of the following tasks:
1. Updating information on LSNYC’s public website;
2. Creating and maintaining clip books featuring press coverage;
3. Media research for both print and distribution of press releases;
4. Drafting and/or editing * distributed press releases;
5. Drafting and/or editing of public service announcements;
6. Assembling press packets;
7. Assisting in the development of brochures, annual reports, and other promotional materials including tasks such as: organizing photo shoots, maintaining LSNYC’s photo archive, and proofreading text for promotional materials;
8. Assisting with the production of the staff e-newsletter by drafting or editing text;
9. Assisting with legislative activities, including preparation of testimony;
10. Assisting with the coordination of pro-▇▇▇▇ meetings and special events.

(1) Communications Officer
1. Work with management and staff across all programs to identify and vet media opportunities for LSNYC and staff
2. Pitch reporters, draft and distribute press releases and statements, and plan and manage press conferences, working with program staff, elected/agency officials, and community partners
3. Work with Communications Director to respond to reporter inquiries, vetting potential press opportunities, connecting reporters to appropriate LSNYC spokespeople, and flagging for appropriate managers and supervisors
4. Work with staff and clients to develop appropriate talking points and messaging prior to interactions with press 5. Take primary responsibility for managing and developing LSNYC’s online presence, including creating content for and expanding LSNYC’s social media profiles, and updating, developing, and maintaining LSNYC’s website as needed
