COMPENSATION FOR ACCIDENTS AT WORK. If an employee is injured while at work and is required to leave the store for medical attention, the employee will be paid for the balance of the shift during which the accident occurred provided such injury requires the employee’s absence from work for the balance of the shift. (a) If an employee is absent due to an illness or a work-related accident and compensation payment has not commenced within two (2) weeks, the Employer will, upon written request from the employee, grant the employee an advance of two (2) weeks’ wages, provided the employee is in immediate need of funds for their personal or family use. (b) Any advance made by the Employer shall be repaid promptly by the employee when compensation payments commence. (c) Failing re-payment, the Employer may deduct any remaining unpaid advance from an employee’s wages.
