COMPENSATION FOR ACCIDENTS AT WORK. 17.01 In the case of an accident, as a result of which the employee is disabled for the balance of the day's shift from earning full wages at the work at which the employee is employed, the Company agrees to give the employee loss of earnings compensation covering the day the disability occurred up to one (1) day's pay on the basis of the amount the employee would have earned at the employee’s regular rate had the employee not been absent from work. The Company agrees to provide work for an employee, following the employee’s proper release from the W.S.I.B. provided suitable work is available which the employee is capable of performing. An employee temporarily unable to perform the employee’s previous duties due to an injury received in the employ of the Company, who can return to work under temporary medical restriction, will be assigned by the Company to a temporary modified work program within the employee’s own classification, or given such other work as is available and which the employee is capable of performing, following agreement regarding such program among the W.S.I.B. Rehabilitation Counsellor, the Health & Safety Department, the District Manager or his/her appointee, and the employee concerned. 17.02 W.S.I.
