COMPENSATION FOR ACCIDENTS AT WORK. 14.01 In the case of an accident, as a result of which the employee is disabled for the balance of the day's shift from earning full wages at the work at which he is employed, the Company agrees to give the employee loss-of-earnings compensation covering the day the disability occurred up to one (1) day's pay on the basis of the amount he would have earned at his regular rate had he not been absent from work. The Company agrees to provide work for an employee, following his proper release from the WSIB, provided suitable work is available which the employee is capable of performing. An employee temporarily unable to perform his previous duties due to an injury received in the employ of the Company, who can return to work under temporary medical restriction, will be assigned by the Company to a temporary modified work program within his own job classification, or given such other work as is available and which he is capable of performing, following agreement regarding such program among the employee's doctor, the WSIB Rehabilitation Counsellor, the Health and Safety Department, the District Manager or his appointee, and the employee concerned. 14.02 WSIB Reports will be completed in duplicate and the second copy will be given to the injured worker. Both copies will be signed by authorized personnel. If the Company is going to question or contest the claim, they will inform the employee in writing of the reason for their action. 14.03 Employees off on WSIB will inform the Store Manager of their status on a monthly basis.
