Common use of Compensation for Accrued Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

Compensation for Accrued Sick Leave. An employee or employee's estate shall be entitled to receive a cash payout equal to 60% of the value of their accrued unused sick leave credit, from July 1, 1974 forward, computed from the last base wage of the employee, including all base monthly special assignment and incentive pay. Payment shall be made as soon as practicable following the occurrence of any of the following events: III.B.7.a. Death; III.B.7.b. Resigns when eligible for retirement;

Effective June 20, 2015, the cash payout shall increase to 60% of the value of the accrued unused sick leave credit.
