Compensation To Be Paid Veterans Returning As Probationary Employees. Probationary Employees who have been in the armed services of the United States, under military leave from the City of Flint and subject to limitations provided by law, shall be required to complete their probationary period the same as though they had not been in the armed services, and shall be subject to the same rules and regulations as ordinary probationers. They shall, however, upon completion of their probationary period, and upon acquiring the status of regular Employees, be given credit for the purpose of compensation and step increases for the time served in said armed services as provided in the foregoing section, effective, however, as of the date they acquire status as regular Employees, and not as of the date of reinstatement as probationary Employees.

  • Retiree Benefits – Process for Payment Any bargaining unit nurse who retires and wishes to participate in the benefit plans as outlined in article 17.01(h) will provide advance payment of the benefits either through post-dated cheques provided on a yearly basis or through a preauthorized withdrawal process. It is understood that any transaction would be dated the first of each and every month. The Employer will notify the Union of the benefit costs to retired nurses in January of each year, and each time the benefit costs are renegotiated by the Employer.
