Compulsory Leave a. If the University President believes an employee is unable to perform assigned duties due to illness or injury, the President shall inform the employee in writing of the basis for the President's belief and may require the employee to obtain a medical examination by a doctor chosen and paid for by the University or by a doctor chosen and paid for by the employee who is acceptable to the University. Refusal of an employee to submit to a medical examination may result in suspension of the employee or other disciplinary action. The doctor shall submit an opinion to the President as to whether the employee
Court Attendance Any employee covered by this Agreement who may be required to attend any commission, court or hearing, to give evidence in any case, civil or criminal respecting the hotel in which they are employed, shall be compensated at the same hourly rate as called for in this Agreement, with a minimum of four (4) hours pay.
MIDDLE SCHOOLS 1. Where there are no negotiated provisions concerning the implementation or operation of a middle school program, this article shall govern the implementation or operation of a middle school program in a school district.
Elementary Schools a. Elementary Leaders
Middle School At the request of the Superintendent, a middle school teacher may volunteer on a semester basis to teach all the student contact time and be paid one-sixth (1/6) of his/her salary for the semester. This section shall not be used to circumvent the hiring of additional full time teachers.
High Schools Wherever possible, no more than eighty students shall be tested at any one time.
Secondary Schools a. Department Chairs (Department Heads) are primarily curricular. The job descriptions include but are not limited to the duties listed.
Elementary School At the request of the Superintendent, elementary school teachers that teach all the student contact time on a daily basis will be paid for an additional hour at an hourly rate based upon their contractual daily rate of pay for a maximum of 180 days. Teachers will not be required to spend additional time beyond their regular day. All scheduling options must have been exhausted before an administrator will receive permission for this variance. The appeal process for this variance is defined in the Staffing Plan.
First Aid Attendant Employees who take time off at the direction of the Employer to take a recognized Industrial First Aid Program shall not suffer a loss of regular pay.
Attendance at Hearings A. Designated Union officials may be granted leave of absence without loss of wages, benefits or other privileges to attend hearings before the Legislature and State agencies concerning matters of importance to the Union and the Employer. Such leave will require prior approval of the CEO.
