Court Attendance. Any employee covered by this Agreement who may be required to attend any commission, court or hearing, to give evidence in any case, civil or criminal respecting the hotel in which they are employed, shall be compensated at the same hourly rate as called for in this Agreement, with a minimum of four (4) hours pay.

Court Attendance. 15.01 If a full-time or regular part-time nurse is required to serve as a juror in any court of law, or is required to attend as a witness in a court proceeding in which the Crown is a party, or is required by subpoena to attend a civil or criminal court of law or coroner’s inquest in connection with a case arising from the nurse’s duties at the Centre, the nurse shall not lose service/seniority or regular pay because of such attendance and shall not be required to work the night shift prior to, or on the day of such duty provided that the nurse: i) notifies the Centre immediately on the nurse’s notification that she or he will be required to attend court; ii) presents proof of service requiring the nurse’s attendance; iii) deposits with the Centre the full amount of compensation received excluding mileage, travelling and meal allowances and an official receipt where available. In addition, where a full-time nurse or regular part-time nurse is selected for jury duty for a period in excess of one (1) week, she or he shall be paid for all hours scheduled and not be expected to attend at work. Upon completion of the process the nurse shall be returned to that point on her or his former schedule that is considered appropriate by the Centre.

Unit members will be present in court and will remain until excused by the presiding judge, the assistant state’s attorney, or the court liaison officer until the case in question is concluded. 2. If a unit member has been summoned to court and is unable to attend for any valid reason (personal illness, leave, family problem of urgent proportions, unavoidable conflict of schedule, etc.), then notification of that fact shall be made by the unit member or his/her designee either in person or by telephone to: a. The state’s attorney liaison officer if the case is to be tried in circuit court. b. The district court liaison officer for cases tried in the district court. 3. Court Attendance. The Employer agrees to pay any nurse who is summoned and legally required to appear as a juror, crown witness or witness in a case arising from her employment, the difference between her earnings and the salary she would have realized had she worked her normal tour. This will be effected by the nurse repaying the amount to the Employer, and the Employer shall keep her pay whole.

Court Attendance. Any employee covered by this Agreement, who may be required by the Employer or summoned by the Crown to attend any hearing to give evidence arising out of his/her employment with the Employer, shall be compensated at the straight time hourly rate as called for in this Agreement, with a minimum of four (4) hours pay.
Court Attendance. If any employee is required to serve as a juror in any court of law, and is unable to obtain permission from the court of law to excuse him or herself from serving as a juror, or is required by subpoena to attend a court of law as a witness, or is required to attend a coroner’s inquest in connection with a case concerning their employment, the employee shall not lose regular pay because of necessary absence from work due to such attendance, provided that the employee: (i) Informs the Employer immediately upon being notified that the employee will be required to attend the court or the coroner’s inquest; (ii) Presents proof of service requiring his/her attendance; (iii) Promptly repays the Employer the amount (other than expenses) paid to the employee for such service as a juror or for attendance as such witness.
Court Attendance. 28.01 Employees required to serve as a juror in any court of law, or to attend as a Crown Witness, or is required by subpoena to attend a court of law or coroner’s inquest in connection with a case arising from the employee’s duties at the Home, shall be given the necessary time off and shall suffer no loss of pay. The Employer agrees to pay such employee his regular pay during such absence less any amounts received by the employee from the court, excluding mileage, traveling and meal allowance. The employee will present proof of the service required or subpoenaed, and proof of the amount he received. 28.02 The employee is required to notify the Employer as soon as possible of his selection for jury duty or subpoena as indicated above.
