Common use of Continuing Education Units Clause in Contracts

Continuing Education Units. The Administration and the Association shall work cooperatively to offer State Board approved District Provided Professional Development (DPPD) and/or State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHS) for staff development activities conducted by the District. Teachers shall be offered annually a minimum of 100 hours of District approved professional development outside of the work day and contractual obligations. Teachers who complete at least ten (10) hours shall be paid a stipend of $225.00. Teachers who are evaluated minimally effective or ineffective shall be required to annually take ten (10) hours of professional development outside the work day and contractual obligations in topics including, but not limited to common core state standards, data-driven instructional planning, school improvement, instructional best practices, meeting the needs of special populations (e.g. Special Education, English learners, at-risk, etc.). Teachers who complete these ten (10) hours shall be paid a stipend of $225.00. No teacher shall receive more than one of the above stipends in any school year.
