Common use of Credit for Military Service Clause in Contracts

Credit for Military Service. The school corporation agrees that credit for qualified teachers shall henceforth be allowed on the compensation model for active duty military service in the armed forces of the United States at a rate of one (1) year for eight (8) months or more of either military service or military service combined with teaching experience, provided such service shall occur within the school year beginning July 1 and ending June 30. Military experience substituted shall not exceed four (4) years. Any teacher applying for such credit shall, upon the request of the school corporation, support such application with evidentiary proof of such teacher’s military service and service dates.
