Common use of CREDIT FOR TRAINING Clause in Contracts

CREDIT FOR TRAINING. Whenever Management approves, an employee may be permitted to assume tasks which are outside the scope of the normal duties of his/her position, for the purpose of gaining experience in the performance of duties in higher level positions or learning to operate such City equipment as is used by his/her department in order to gain work experience on such job or equipment. A qualified person shall be designated and shall be available to instruct and supervise the employee in the performance of such tasks or in the safe and proper operation of said equipment. Any dispute concerning the person’s qualifications to instruct and supervise shall be decided by the employee’s Departmental Management Representative.
