Non-emergency Overtime. Whenever Management deems it necessary to perform non-emergency work on an overtime basis, employees required to work will be given at least forty-eight (48) hours notice.

Non-emergency Overtime. For the purposes of this contract, non-emergency overtime shall be prearranged, with at least twelve (12) hours’ notice given or an extension of the regularly scheduled day in order to maintain required staffing or for situations not covered under D. of this Article. All non-emergency overtime shall be distributed and rotated equally among employees, for the position to be filled, to the extent possible, as tracked by the Fire Time Tracking System.

Non-emergency Overtime. It is the understanding that overtime is at the discretion of Management, however, the Sheriff will make every effort to distribute overtime as equally as possible among all employees within the same work activity. A Primary Non-emergency Overtime List, consisting of the names of those employees indicating a desire for overtime, shall be compiled quarterly on the basis of seniority within each title. In addition, Secondary Non-emergency Overtime Lists shall be compiled quarterly, on the basis of seniority, for the Communications Section and Corrections Division, consisting of the names of those employees who are qualified and capable of performing these respective tasks. When non-emergency overtime is necessitated within a specified work activity, in either Corrections or Communications, each employee shall be offered the overtime in order of appearance on the Primary Non-emergency Overtime List. In the event that the Primary Non-emergency Overtime List is exhausted, the overtime shall then be offered to those employees whose names appear on the Secondary Non-emergency Overtime List, if applicable. In the event the overtime lists are exhausted, then the overtime shall be assigned by least seniority in the respective work activity. A record of overtime hours worked by each employee within a particular activity shall be posted quarterly on a bulletin board.

As overtime situations occur, employees will be offered to work in order of seniority, most senior to least senior, until the overtime is filled. When the next overtime situation develops, the employee on the seniority list following the last employee to work overtime will be offered the overtime first, working through the seniority list in descending order. The following procedure for filling Non-emergency Overtime shall be utilized: 1. Non-emergency overtime will be filled in four (4) hour segments in order of occurrence on the Primary and Secondary Overtime lists. 2. The Non-emergency Overtime Lists need not be used when filling vacancies occurring within four (4) hours of notification. 3. Whenever possible, overtime lists will be maintained by Supervisory personnel. 4. Except under extraordinary circumstances, the maximum number of hours an employee is to work shall be twelve (12) consecutive hours, followed by at least eight (8) hours off. 5. Employees may not be required to work more than a total of eight (8) hours overtime during their scheduled pass days, but may work more than eight (8) hours overtime in this situation on a voluntary basis, or in an emergency situation. 6. Overtime scheduling in regard to Road Patrol special details will be handled according to current practice in effect upon the signing of the 1995-1997 agreement.

Non-emergency Overtime. For purposes of this Agreement, non-emergency overtime shall be prearranged with at least twelve (12) hours' notice given, or as an extension of the regularly scheduled day in order to maintain required staffing, or for situations not covered under 4, 5 or 6 of this Article. Non-emergency overtime shall be paid for the actual hours or fractions of hours worked, unless it meets the requirements for cancellation of non-emergency overtime or as otherwise provided for in paragraph 3.Cancellation of non-emergency overtime is not subject to a two (2) hour minimum in Paragraph 3 unless the employee is given less than twelve (12) hours' notice of the cancellation.

  • Emergency Work Employees who are required to report for emergency work on non- workdays, or outside of their regular hours of work on a scheduled workday or on holidays which they are entitled to have off, shall be paid overtime compensation for the actual work time and for travel time in connection therewith, but such travel time shall not exceed one-half (1/2) hour.

  • Emergency Duty (1) This clause applies if: (a) an employee is directed to attend for duty to meet an emergency; and (b) the employee would not ordinarily have been on duty at that time; and (c) the employee was not given notice of the direction before ceasing ordinary duty; and (d) the employee is not at a classification above the salary barrier or an AGS fee earner. (2) However, the Secretary may decide that this clause applies to an employee at a classification above the salary barrier (unless they are an AGS fee earner). (3) For the time on duty, the employee is to be paid: (a) at the rate of double time; and (b) for at least 2 hours. (4) The time on duty is taken to include time necessarily spent in travelling to and from duty. (5) This clause does not apply if the employee is subject to a restriction direction. (6) Clause 3.23 (rest relief after overtime) does not apply to overtime worked in circumstances covered by this clause unless the actual time worked is at least 3 hours for each attendance.

  • Equalization of Overtime Overtime shall be equalized as much as possible within each division. The parties agree that when bargaining unit employees work overtime in divisions other than his/her regular division, then those hours of overtime worked are to be figured into the employee’s overtime hours in his/her regular division for the purpose of equalizing the overtime within the division. (a) Employees shall be required to provide one (1) telephone number in order to be contacted for call-out assignments. Employees at their option may provide a second telephone number at which to be contacted. However, failure to provide a second number shall not be considered a loss and/or denial of an overtime opportunity. (b) Failure to respond and a refusal to any call-out/overtime opportunity shall be charged against the employee as if worked. (c) Employees who respond to the call/out overtime and actually work shall be charged for hours worked. (d) Employees who are off work due to vacation, compensatory time, sick leave for someone other than themselves or light duty (providing the call-out assignment is consistent with the applicable light duty restrictions), shall at their choice be available for call-out situations. If the employee chooses to work the call-out, he/she will be charged the overtime worked. Also, an employee who is off due to military service is considered not available for overtime and shall not be charged overtime hours. Employees transferring to a different division shall receive for purposes of overtime equalization the average amount of overtime worked that the existing personnel within the division and classification possess at the time of transfer in order to equalize overtime under Article 11. For the purposes of this Agreement, any refusal of overtime in other divisions will be charged to the employee in his/her regular division as if he/she had actually worked those hours, in accordance with Article 12(E) (Temporary Reassignments).

  • Payment of Overtime For the purposes of calculating overtime payments, each day or shift will stand-alone.

  • Mandatory Overtime a. Mandatory Overtime is overtime that an employee is assigned and required to work involuntarily, and will only be required in operational emergencies when sufficient voluntary overtime cannot be secured to maintain the Company’s operation. Mandatory overtime will be limited to the number of employees and hours required to cover the emergency as determined by local management. b. Mandatory overtime will not exceed 4 hours past an employee’s scheduled shift in any 24 hour period. Employees will not be required to work mandatory overtime until the opportunity to work the additional hours has been offered to all qualified employees who are currently at work, and if there are an insufficient number of volunteers, then to otherwise eligible employees whose names remain on the overtime call sign up list. c. Mandatory overtime will be assigned in reverse bid seniority order according to shift time, except that employees already working overtime will be assigned last. d. Every attempt will be made to notify employees on duty of mandatory overtime at least 1 hour in advance. If 1 hour’s advance notice is not provided, the employee will receive 1 ½ hours’ pay as a penalty in addition to the pay earned for any mandatory overtime hours actually worked. e. Employees will not be assigned mandatory overtime during their vacation periods. For this purpose, the vacation period is defined as the period beginning 24 hours after the commencement of the employee’s last regularly scheduled shift before the vacation commenced. An employee may be assigned to mandatory overtime on the last regularly assigned shift prior to a vacation or DAT day, but will be placed at the bottom of the mandatory overtime list. f. If any mandatory overtime causes a rest period violation to occur, every attempt will be made to adjust the employee’s shift to provide the minimum 8 hours rest. g. All mandatory overtime hours will be paid at the applicable rate of pay but not less than the time and one half (1.5X) rate of pay regardless of work status or hours worked. If an employee is required to work mandatory overtime on two or more consecutive days, the minimum payment for all mandatory overtime hours worked will be at the double-time (2X) rate of pay.
