Common use of Critical Family Illness Clause in Contracts

Critical Family Illness. An employee may use up to three (3) days of sick leave per contract year in the event of critical illness or injury to a member of the employee's immediate family other than children under the age of eighteen (18) with a health condition which requires treatment or supervision. Immediate family consists of spouse, domestic partner, children, parents, grandchildren, grandparents, and siblings of the employee, spouse, or domestic partner and for those for whom the employee has a legal durable power of attorney. Critical family illness leave shall be deducted from sick leave or vacation at the employee's option.
