Day Shift Preference. In accordance with the terms of Article 10 of this Agreement, it is agreed that employees working on a shift other than the regular day shift shall be given preference over new employees in filling vacancies occurring in the day shift.
Day Shift Preference. Permanent night shift employees at each site, and in seniority order, shall have priority when the night shift employee's site fills vacancies in the positions listed below for absences of at least two (2) or more days due to resignation/retirement, scheduled vacation, long term illness, bereavement leave or being impaneled on a jury for two (2) or more days. The permanent night shift employee shall remain in the vacancy until it its either filled or the incumbent returns. The positions covered by this provision are the Days Shift Grounds Maintenance/Custodian, M & O Site Team Leader or Site/Shift Senior Custodian.
