Long Term Illness. Should a full-time employee have a single illness exceeding ninety (90) days duration, and all sick leave credits have been used, the benefits of the Long Term Disability Plan outlined in Article 26.01(d) of this Agreement shall apply. An employee accepted on the Long Term Disability shall continue to receive all fringe benefits (except pension) s/he is entitled to as set forth in this Agreement for a maximum period of twenty-four (24) months. During that twenty-four month period the employee may, if s/he is able to do so, return to his/her position. Alternatively, where that employee’s position no longer exists or where that employee may not be able to return to his/her position then after twelve (12) months of becoming eligible for Long Term Disability and within ninety (90) days thereof, the employee may request his/her name to be placed on the Recall List. If an employee receives benefits under the Disability Insurance Plan (LTD), the College shall pay to the employee the difference between the benefit and the employee’s full salary for as long as the accumulated sick leave credits permit. In such cases, the charge against the employee’s sick leave credits shall be in the same proportion that the College’s payment bears to the full salary of the employee computed at the end of each month to the nearest half-day.

Long Term Illness. Where an illness of up to six months duration is involved, supported by appropriate medical information and it seems likely that the employee concerned will be unable to resume duty within the foreseeable future, the employer may after agreement with the employee and their representative, continue paid sick leave or explore other options.

Long Term Illness. 1.8.1 An Employee who is absent due to a non-work related illness or injury for at least 4 consecutive weeks shall have the number of weekend shifts and weekend night shifts to be worked per annum reduced by 0.617 for each week of absence. Any reduction of weekend shifts shall be subject to the Employee providing the Company with a qualified medical practitioner’s certificate(s) in support of the total period of absence(s). No reduction of weekend shifts to be worked per annum shall be made for absence due to illness or injury which is less than 4 consecutive weeks.
Long Term Illness. In the event of a long-term absence due to illness, the employee shall utilize the sick leave allowance available under this article until not more than five days of sick leave remains available. The employee shall have the option of reserving not more than five days of sick leave before receiving benefits under the Disability Insurance Program, provided the request is made in writing prior to five days before the sick leave allowance is to be fully used. An election to reserve up to five days of the sick leave allowance may not be revoked.

Long Term Illness. (a) Full-time employees shall be entitled to coverage under a Long Term Disability Plan provided and paid for by the BCGEU. The Long Term Disability Plan shall provide 70% of basic salary to a maximum of $6,500 per month. (b) LTD benefits are payable for the first 24 months following the waiting period if illness or injury prevents an employee from doing any job in their own occupation.
Long Term Illness. Employees with three (3) or more years’ service may be considered for extended sick leave if deemed warranted by the Director of Utilities or Manager. The following conditions would be taken into consideration: (1) Employee’s merit ratings; (2) Past sick leave record and a sickness certificate from a physician. Terms of extended sick leave and the repayment of said extension shall be in writing between the Director of Utilities or Manager and the employee. Such extended sick leave shall be repaid by working on vacation days and/or casual days and by the forfeiture of future earned, but unused sick leave in accordance with the schedule for repayment established by the Director of Utilities or Manager in each individual case.
Long Term Illness. In the event of long term illness, the Board will provide disability protection from the one hundred sixth (106th) day of absence to the one hundred eightieth (180th) day to a maximum of seventy-five (75) days per illness, per occurrence. The level of protection will be sixty-six and two-thirds percent (66 2/3%) of the employee’s current salary on Schedule A. 1216.1 Proof of disability must be provided to the employer.
