DAYS AND HOURS. Section 1. The beginning and ending of the regular workday (Monday – Friday) may be varied to meet individual work center needs. Section 2. The regular lunch period for each member of the Bargaining Unit shall be no less than thirty (30) minutes in each workday, which shall be duty-free. In work centers where the program will not permit duty-free lunch the employees' workday as stated above shall be reduced by the amount of time the lunch period is not duty free. Employees may take a rest period of not more than fifteen (15) minutes for each half-day of work at times authorized by the employer. The rest period is intended to be a recess to be preceded and followed by an extended work period; thus, it may not be used to cover an employee’s late arrival to work or early departure, nor may it be regarded as accumulative if not taken.
