Special Functions. In addition to the functions provided for in Article 29 of this Agreement and, where appropriate, according to the provisions of Article 28 above, the members of the Administrative Council representing States party to this Agreement and to the Patent Cooperation Treaty, the Trademark Registration Treaty, the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Deposit of Industrial Designs, the Lisbon Agreement for the Protection of Appellations of Origin and their International Registration, the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants or the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure shall, where necessary, draw up the appropriate regulations deriving from the implementation of the said six Treaties or Agreements with a view to their application on their respective national territories.
Special Functions. Nutrition Assistants who are assigned to special functions in addition to their regularly assigned work hours shall be compensated at their normal rate of pay in compliance with FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act.) Nutrition Assistants who work on special functions funded by a school organization, business or agency outside the school system, in addition to their regularly assigned work hours, shall be compensated at a rate of time and one half (1 ½) of their normal rate of pay. Payment will be paid in a timely fashion not to exceed four (4) weeks.
Special Functions. No employee will be required to prepare for special functions if by doing so the employee will need to work past their normal working hours. In the event the Employer requests a special function be prepared, and the employee agrees to do so, resulting in exceeding normal working hours, such time spent in preparation will be paid for at the applicable overtime rates. Special functions will be discussed in advance with kitchen staff in order to strategize ways and means of co-operatively planning a successful event which is as least disruptive as possible to residents and staff.

Special Functions. Over time or call provisions will not apply to those special functions which are of a voluntary nature that occur from time to time and are generally unpaid. The application of this clause is only to those Special Functions, which are agreed to between the parties of this agreement. No employee will be compelled to drive or participate in these types of special functions.

Special Functions. Employees who work after-school or functions shall be compensated as follows: The employee will receive a minimum guarantee of four (4) hours at one and one-half times his/her hourly rate. For each fifteen minutes worked in excess of four hours, the employee will be paid for such time worked at his/her time and one-half rate. Employees shall be provided, as far as is practicable, the opportunity to volunteer for such work. A volunteer list of appointed employees assigned to the school where the function is taking place shall be maintained on a continuing basis by the Director of Food Services. Appointed employees assigned to the school where the function is taking place will have priority when assigning the overtime. If there are no volunteers from the school where the function is taking place then the volunteer list will be opened to appointed employees from all schools. All assignments will be based on seniority. Should there be no volunteers from the list of appointed employees, part time substitutes employees will be allowed to volunteer. If there are insufficient volunteers the Food Service Director will assign appointed employees in inverse order of seniority to work the function, said assignments will rotate. An employee assigned to work a function will not lose their seniority on the rotation list. The special function volunteer list will be maintained on a continual rotating basis.
