Definition and Allowable Use. 6 Sick leave is a leave of absence with County pay which may be used when 7 the employee is directly affected by any of the health conditions listed below, or when 8 specified others are affected by the conditions listed, and require the employee’s care. 9 Protected sick time as defined under Oregon’s state sick leave law, ORS 653.601(6), sick 10 leave taken in excess of forty (40) hours is not considered protected sick time, though 11 such leave may be considered protected leave under other state and federal law.
