Common use of Definition of Holiday Pay and Qualifiers Clause in Contracts

Definition of Holiday Pay and Qualifiers. (The following clause is applicable to full-time employees only) Holiday pay will be computed on the basis of the employee's regular straight time hourly rate of pay times the employee's normal daily hours of work. An employee who was scheduled to work on a holiday and is absent shall not be entitled to holiday pay or to a lieu day to which she would otherwise be entitled unless such absence was due to a satisfactory reason. An employee who qualifies to receive pay for any holiday or a lieu day will not be entitled, in the event of illness, to receive sick pay in addition to holiday pay or a lieu day in respect of the same day.
