Department Promotion and Tenure Committee. (1) Each department shall constitute a promotion and tenure committee which shall include all tenured faculty members covered by this Agreement. Provided, however, if the candidate for tenure is a full professor, the committee shall consist only of tenured in-unit full professors. Faculty members who are on paid or unpaid leave will be considered unavailable to serve. Faculty members who are unavailable to serve shall not be 11/26/2018 20-12 eligible to vote on the candidate’s qualifications for tenure. In cases where the total number of committee members is less than three (3), the chair, after consulting with the xxxx, shall appoint eligible faculty members from a different but closely-related discipline to fill those vacancies, up to three
