Common use of Departmental Seniority Clause in Contracts

Departmental Seniority. An employee’s departmental seniority shall be the length of service with the University from the date of the employee’s entry to a department position covered by this Agreement subject to the provisions of paragraphs 70, 71, 72, 73 and 76. In the event the University makes changes in its organizational structure, including the merging, reorganization or restructuring of departments or divisions, the departmental seniority of the affected Bargaining Unit employees shall be taken to their new department and seniority in the former department shall cease.
