Disabled Employees' Preference Any employee covered by this Agreement who has given good and faithful service to the Employer and who, through advancing years or temporary disablement is unable to perform their regular duties, may be given the preference of any light work available at the salary payable at the time for the assigned position.
Disabled Employees If an employee becomes disabled with the result that he is unable to carry out the regular functions of his position, the Hospital may establish a special classification and salary with the hope of providing an opportunity of continued employment.
Disabled Child A disabled dependent child is an eligible employee’s child or grandchild regardless of marital status, who was covered and then disabled prior to the limiting age or any other limiting term required for dependent coverage and who continues to be incapable of self-sustaining employment by reason of developmental disability, mental illness or disorder, or physical disability, and is chiefly dependent upon the employee for support and maintenance, provided proof of such incapacity and dependency must be furnished to the health carrier by the employee or enrollee within thirty one (31) days of the child’s attainment of the limiting age or any other limiting term required for dependent coverage. The disabled dependent is eligible to continue coverage as long as s/he continues to be disabled and dependent, unless coverage terminates under the contract.

DEFINITION OF EMPLOYEE STATUS AND BENEFIT ENTITLEMENT For the purpose of this Article “regularly scheduled” means any combination of shifts scheduled in advance and issued by the Employer. Disability Retirement If, as a result of your incapacity due to physical or mental illness, You shall have been absent from the full-time performance of your duties with the Company for 6 consecutive months, and within 30 days after written notice of termination is given You shall not have returned to the full-time performance of your duties, your employment may be terminated for "Disability." Termination of your employment by the Company or You due to your "Retirement" shall mean termination in accordance with the Company's retirement policy, including early retirement, generally applicable to its salaried employees or in accordance with any retirement arrangement established with your consent with respect to You.
Regular Employment The Employer may fill a position with a regular employment appointment for positions scheduled to work twelve (12) months per year.
Hiring Preference 1. In all hiring for bargaining unit positions, the Company shall, subject to its obligations under applicable equal employment opportunity laws and regulations, give consideration, to the full extent of interest, to the direct relatives (children, children-in-law, step-children, spouse, siblings, grandchildren, nieces and nephews) of Employees and retirees of the Company who meet reasonably established hiring criteria.
