Eligibility for Fire Marshal. ‌ Unless wholly impracticable, all appointments to Fire Marshal shall be made from current employees who hold the rank of Lieutenant who have at least three (3) years of seniority in said rank and are certified Fire Prevention Officer I. If during the initial posting of this position, there are not three (3) internal candidates that meet this criteria, the process shall be extended to current Batavia Fire Department Employees that have at least three(3) years of seniority in the rank of Lieutenant, and who can reasonably obtain Fire Prevention Officer I certifications within one year of appointment. After the initial posting of the position, if there are not three (3) internal candidates that hold the rank of Lieutenant who have at least three (3) years of seniority in said rank, and are certified Fire Prevention Officer I, the City may consider outside candidates in addition to the internal candidates. Candidates from outside the City must also be Fire Prevention Officer I or the equivalent and have at least five (5) years of experience in a fire department or district, 3 years of which must be at the rank of Lieutenant or above, and must currently hold the rank of Lieutenant or above or the equivalent.

  • Eligibility for Leave All regular full-time employees shall be eligible for paid leave. Further, all regular part-time employees shall receive paid leave on a ration of paid leave time accrued to the number of hours worked in the work week. All non-regular part-time, temporary, and seasonal employees will not be eligible to receive paid leave.

  • Eligibility for Pay An employee granted military leave for emergency National Guard duty is entitled to receive regular University pay for a period not to exceed thirty (30) calendar days in any one (1) fiscal year. An employee is eligible for pay regardless of the length of University service, and such pay is in addition to any University payment for temporary military leave for active-duty training, extended military leave, and military leave for physical examinations.

  • Eligibility for Sick Leave Subject to the provisions herein, employees and officers (hereinafter called "employees") who are absent from their duties because of illness or disability are eligible for sick leave.

  • Eligibility for Holiday Pay A. An employee must be paid for all or a portion of both the regularly scheduled working assignment immediately prior to a holiday and the regularly scheduled working assignment immediately after that holiday in order to receive holiday pay. With County approval, compensatory time earned for working on a holiday or for a holiday falling on a regularly scheduled day off may be taken on the first scheduled working day after the holiday.

  • Eligibility for Promotion An employee in the classification of Police Officer must have a minimum of five (5) years service in the classification of Lincoln Police Officer as of March 1 of the testing year to be eligible to test for the classification of Sergeant.
