Eligibility for Maternity Leave. 1.3(a) An employee who becomes pregnant, upon production to her Employer of the certificate required by 1.4, shall be entitled to a period of up to 52 weeks maternity leave. Such leave shall not extend beyond the child's first birthday. This entitlement shall be reduced by any period of paternity leave taken by the employee's spouse in relation to the same child and apart from paternity leave of up to one week at the time of confinement shall not be taken concurrently with paternity leave.
