Eligible Dependent a person who is a dependent of an Eligible Primary and considered to be a Qualified Individual by the Exchange. Eligible Dependents are eligible for either Pediatric Benefits or Adult Benefits as described in this Policy.

Eligible Dependent. To qualify as an Eligible Dependent under this Contract, a person must be and remain one (1) of the following: 1. The Enrollee’s spouse under a legally valid marriage. 2. The Enrollee’s or the Enrollee’s spouse’s natural child, stepchild, legally adopted child, child placed with the Enrollee for adoption, or child for whom the Enrollee or the Enrollee’s spouse has court- appointed guardianship or custody. The child must be: a) Under the age of twenty-six (26); or b) Medically certified as disabled due to mental handicap or physical handicap and financially dependent upon the Enrollee or the Enrollee’s spouse for support, regardless of age. 3. An Enrollee must notify BCI and/or the Group within thirty (30) days when a person no longer qualifies as an Eligible Dependent. Coverage for the former Eligible Dependent will terminate the last day of the month in which the change in eligibility occurred.
Eligible Dependent. For the purpose of the death payment, an eligible dependent(s) is defined as one receiving the majority of support from the deceased employee in accord with Internal Revenue Service regulations.
Eligible Dependent. An eligible Dependent is a U.S. citizen, national or other individual lawfully present in the United States a. not entitled for benefits under Medicare Part A or enrolled in Medicare Part B, Medicaid or CHIP; b. not be incarcerated other than incarceration pending the disposition of charges; and c. who has been identified by the Subscriber through the appropriate enrollment process or on an application form accepted by the Plan as: i) the Subscriber’s spouse under a legally valid existing marriage. ii) the Subscriber’s Domestic Partner for the duration of the Domestic Partnership. In addition, the child(ren) of the Domestic Partner shall be considered, for eligibility purposes, as if they were the child(ren) of the Subscriber as long as the Domestic Partnership exists. iii) the Subscriber’s child, including a newborn child, step-child, child legally placed for adoption, child awarded coverage pursuant to an order of court, and legally adopted child of the Subscriber or Subscriber’s spouse. The limiting age for a covered child is twenty-six (26), unless the period of eligibility for such Dependent is otherwise extended pursuant to applicable state or federal law. Eligibility will be continued past the date that a Dependent child turns age twenty-six

Eligible Dependent. 1. Eligible Dependent is defined as: a. The spouse to whom the Eligible Person is legally married. b. The Eligible Person’s biological child. c. Children of the Eligible Person by legal adoption or placement for adoption, guardianship, marriage (stepchildren), and xxxxxx care placement (xxxxxx child). d. The Plan may require proof of such Dependent’s disability from time to time. NOTE: To the extent mandated by the requirements of Pennsylvania Act 83 of 2005, eligibility will be continued past the date that a Dependent child turns age twenty-six (26) for unmarried children who are enrolled as Dependents under their parent’s coverage at the time they are called or ordered into active military duty. The Dependent must be a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard or any reserve component of the armed forces of the United States, who is called or ordered to active duty, other than active duty for training, for a period of thirty (30) or more consecutive days, or be a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard ordered to active state duty for a period of thirty (30) or more consecutive days.
