Emergency or Personal Leave. In the event of an unforeseen emergency or important personal business, a regular employee may use up to five (5) days of sick leave per school year for emergency or personal leave, either in advance or retroactively, for a contingency not provided for by statute or other school District policies. In the event the supervisor grants permission for the employee to leave early for an emergency (including important personal business or important family matters), the employee shall not be required to submit a District Emergency Leave Request Form, provided it is not necessary to hire a paid substitute. If a paid substitute is necessary, the leave must be applied for on the proper form. Application for emergency leave must be made through the Human Resources Department.
