Military Service We do not Cover an illness, treatment or medical condition due to service in the Armed Forces or auxiliary units.
Military Service Credit Permanent HMC employees who are veterans or their unmarried widows/widowers shall have added to their unbroken service the veteran’s active military service to a maximum of five (5) years in accordance with applicable state and federal law.
Military Service Leave The Employer and the Union agree that the matter of leave of absence for an employee during the period of his/her military service with the armed forces of the United States, and of his/her reinstatement thereafter, shall be governed by applicable statutes.
Military Caregiver Leave The employer shall grant an employee who is a family member of a covered service member an unpaid leave of up to twenty-six (26) weeks (inclusive of the twelve (12) weeks granted under 1. above) in a single twelve (12) month period to care for the covered service member who has a serious illness or injury incurred in the line of duty on active duty.
Maternity Disability Leave 14.1.13.1 This leave commences with the onset of disablement due to pregnancy. The employee may claim sick leave pay and/or extended disability pay for no more than that limited period of time when the employee’s physician certified in writing on the form provided by the District that she was actually physically disabled from performing her duties because of pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth, or recovery there from.
Cyclic Employment Leave Leave without pay will be granted to cyclic year employees during their off season.
Supported Employment Natural Supports This service is for individuals with most significant disabilities that meet the requirements for supported employment services and does not have an immediate guarantee of extended services funding availability, but there is a reasonable expectation that natural supports or other alternate sources will be available upon job stabilization.
Casual Employment (a) A casual Employee is one engaged as such and who has no firm advance commitment from the Employer to continuing and indefinite work according to an agreed pattern of work. When a person is engaged for casual employment the Employee will be provided with a document (for example, via a hard copy provided in person or by electronic means) that specifies the job to be performed, the classification level in accordance with this Agreement, the actual or anticipated length of engagement including number of hours to be worked in that period, and the relevant rate of pay and any allowances.
